Bacterial Ophthalmic Infections
Bacitracin is used alone or in combination with other anti-infective agents in the short-term topical treatment of superficial infections of the eye caused by susceptible bacteria.
Bacitracin is used in combination with other anti-infective agents and corticosteroids for the treatment of corticosteroid-responsive ocular conditions when a corticosteroid is indicated and a bacterial infection or risk of infection exists.
Bacitracin is not recommended for prophylaxis of neonatal ophthalmia.
For systemic use of bacitracin, see 8:12.28.08. For other topical uses of bacitracin, see 84:04.04.
