Men's sexual health...erectile dysfunction.. why does it occur? What are the treatment options?

According to the Official Association of Urology Foundation, Erectile dysfunction, or ED is defined as the trouble of getting or keeping an erection that's firm enough for sex. Although it's most commonly suspected that this issue primarily affects men who are older in age, some issue's that can affect the sexual health of men of all ages can include: Diabetes, high blood pressure, smoking, drinking excessive amounts of alcohol and even some prescription medications. There are options available for men and couples who experience erectile dysfunction. There are four drugs approved by the FDA for ED which include: Cialis, Levitra, Viagra and Stendra. Although all four of these drugs are a part of the same drug class, each of these drugs are unique in how soon they work and duration of action. The most common side effects of these medications, in order of most to least common include: headaches, flushing, upset stomach, nasal congestion, UTI infections, vision problems, diarrhea, dizziness, and rash. These medications are not safe when combined with cardiac drugs called Nitrates (ex. Nitroglycerin). This combination can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. Consult with your physician before starting any of these medications, to determine which would be the safest for you. Below lists the onset and the duration of action of above-mentioned drugs.
